Dan's Feed Bin

Superior , WI 54880

Website:

If you check out the freezer at Dan's Feed Bin, you'll find a lot of frozen turkey. Dan Wicklund is storing almost 6,000 pounds of turkey donated to Positive Energy earlier this winter. We count on Dan's Feed Bin for the oats we feed Blaze and Tracy, seed for the horse pasture and treats for the dogs. For many children who participate in our dogsled programs, giving the dogs a treat when we return to the dog yard is a highlight of the day! Thanks, Dan, and your crew at the Feed Bin for helping us keep the dogs and horses well feed and happy.

We have been feeding NutriSource Super Performance Dog Food since 2005. One of the most common questions we are asked during dog sled programs is, "What do the dogs eat?" We're proud to say we feed NutriSource! Kristi Anderson has coordinated the shipping of over 4 tons of dog food annually to supply our voracious huskies! NutriSource is also a proud sponsor of our Reading (ed)Ventures with Sled Dogs program, where kids read dog and adventure themed stories to the dogs. It's a great way to improve reading skills while having fun with our friendly Alskan Huskies.

Jay and Josh Widdes have made sure we never run out of dog food! By the pallet or the bag, we appreciate their willingness to place orders for us and provide storage until we can pick up what we need. The dogs eat almost 1 bag of dog food each day, and they require a special diet that meets their caloric needs as working animals--we can't get their food at the local pet store! We also use an equipment trailer from Widdes Trailer Sales.
