Rendezvous :: Human Dog Sled Race

Ever wonder what it’s like to pull a dogsled? Here’s your chance to put your paws behind a great cause—supporting outdoor programming for youth agencies in the Twin Ports region. Put your feet in the snow and pull your team to the finish line at the first annual Twin Ports Winter Rendezvous Human Dogsled Race. The race begins on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 6 PM. The 75 yard dash tests the team’s abilities to listen to directions, pull hard, and complete the trek with tails wagging.

5-member race teams include two lead humans, two wheel humans and one driver

If you have more than 5 aspiring sled dogs, register more teams!

Classes include: Business/Corporate, Religious Organizations, Student Clubs, Community Organizations and School Groups—costumes and mascots encouraged!

Teams compete within their class for the ultimate dog team trophy

Pre-registration is required by Friday, January 20, 2006

Register your human dog team by completing the registration form and sending your payment.  Your team will receive more information, including specific location details, start times and a clothing list.

Your team’s entire $50 entrance fee supports outdoor programming, including dogsledding, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and more for area youth agencies!

The Human Dogsled Race (formerly the Beargrease “Mascot Race”) is part of the Twin Ports Winter Rendezvous, a winter celebration in cooperation with the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. All Rendezvous activities benefit youth agencies in the Twin Ports region.

Please Note: To participate, you must pre-register by Friday, January 27, 2006. Download a registration form here.
