2011-2012 Dog Sledding Rates and Reservations

Dog Sledding Tours:

Bog Tour (2 hours): $150/adult, $100/child (under age 12)
Island Lake Tour (3-4 hours): $190/adult, $120/child (under age 12)
Full Day Dogsled Experience (includes hot lunch):
$300/adult, $190/child (under age 12)

Family Tour:
2 hour experience, including kennel tour, harnessing and hookup of one team with rides on our ½ mile bog loop: $300/family of 4, $50/additional person up to six people

On-Site Group Rates:

Groups Rate: $250/first hour, $200/additional hours (2 hour minimum)

Call or e-mail about special rates for groups from 20-50 people or information about bringing sled dogs to a special event.

Add a Sleigh Ride to your dog sledding experience or create a Winter Sampler for your group: dog sledding, sleigh ride, snowshoeing and wall tent/cocoa/winter camping skills

Snowshoe Rental: $10/pair

Cancellation Policy:
You may cancel your reservation without penalty up to three weeks in advance of your trip date if we are able to re-book your time slot. If you pay by credit card, you will be billed a 50% deposit at the time of booking, with the balance charged to your card on the date of your trip. You may also pay the balance by cash or check. In the event that you must cancel your trip within three weeks of your trip date, the deposit can be applied to a future trip. Future trips will reflect the current pricing at the time of reservation. We cannot guarantee availability for future trip dates, but will do our best to accommodate your request if booked far enough in advance. If Positive Energy must cancel your trip due to weather conditions, you may apply your deposit toward a future outing or you may request the full refund of your deposit. Lack of snow in Duluth cannot be used as an indication of snow or ice conditions at Positive Energy Outdoors.


2011 - 2012 Sleigh and Wagon Ride Rates and Reservations

Sleigh and Wagon Rides:

Vis-à-vis Sleigh Ride (seats 4-5 adults): $150/group
Bobsleigh Ride (seats 10-12 adults): $110/base rate (first two passengers) plus $15/additional passenger
Wagonette Ride (seats up to 6 adults or 8 children): $150/group

Group rates for 20-50 people are available. Call or e-mail about bringing the sleigh or wagon to special events.

2011 Rock Climbing Rates and Reservations

Family Climbing Combo: (Two hour - full day experience) Climb on our portable climbing wall on the beautiful shore of Fredenberg Lake followed by a refreshing swim or paddle. Don't forget your picnic basket or bar-b-que! $25/adults, $15/kids under 12 for 2 hours (minimum charge of $50); additional per hour charge: $15/adults, $7.50/kids under 12

Portable Climbing Wall: $85/hour (on site) or $150/hour (offsite--additional mileage charge for offsite programs more than 30 miles from Positive Energy)

On-Site Portable Climbing Wall Birthday Party Rate: $150 for 2 hours of climbing for up to 12 climbers--includes an opportunity for swimming

Outdoor Climbing in Duluth at the Whoopie Wall and Ely’s Peak
Whoopie Wall (2-3 hours--Minimum charge of $110)
2 people: $55/person
3-4 people: $45/person
5 or more: $35/person (up to 12 people)
Under 13: $25/person

Ely's Peak (4 hours--Minimum charge of $130)
2 people: $75/person
3-4 people: $65/person
5 or more: $55/person (up to 12 people)
Under age 13: Deduct 10%
Private Instruction: $150

Outdoor Climbing on the North Shore at Carlton Peak, Shovel Point, Silver Cliff (4 hours--Minimum charge of $240)
2 people: $120/person
3-4 people: $110/person
5-6 people: $100/person
Private Instruction: $240
Under age 13: Deduct 10%

We'll guide more experienced climbers at Palisade Head or other North Shore sites. Call for custom rates and for groups of 6 or more.

Youth Group Climbing Rate
Ely's Peak: $45/person (4 hours)
Whoopie Wall: $35/person (2-3 hours)
North Shore: $90/person (4 hours)

2011 Kayaking Rates and Reservations

2-3 Hour Inland Lake Intro/Skills Course: $55/adult, $30/child under 12. Additional discount available for groups of 4-12. Ask about our youth group kayaking rate.

Women's Wednesday Night Paddle: Wednesdays from 6-8 pm, weather permitting, May-September--call to RSVP by 5 pm the day of the paddle: $25/paddler (all experiece levels welcome--we provide boats, instruction and equipment)

Specialized Instruction: Duluth is a great place to play in the surforexpand your skills when the waves are up. We are available most evenings to teach kayak surfing and surf zone survival techniques using whitewater or touring kayaks. $55/person for 2+ hours.

Wind and Waves Confidence Builder: Braces, rescues, towing and additional paddling techniques for challenging conditions. $55/person for 2+ hours.

Inland Lake Kayak Rental (Skills Course Required—Rentals for Fredenberg/Island Lake Only): $10/hour/single kayak, $15/hour/tandem

Sorry, we do not rent kayaks for use on Lake Superior.

Lake Superior Trips (4 hours)

3.5 Hour Lake Superior Lighthouse and Lava Flow Tours at Burlington Bay in Two Harbors: $75/person (2 person minimum)

4.5 Hour Lake Superior Shovel Point or Palisade Head Tour: $120/person (2 people), $100/person for 3 or more participants.

Additional discount available for groups of 6-12.
