2012 kayak, climbing and youth program intnerships are now available. Positions run May-August. Dog Sled and Draft Horse Internships run from September - April. . Applicants should submit a resume, three references and cover letter explaining their goals for the intership and any relevant experience working with sled dogs or draft horses. Our Outdoor Leadership for Teens program offers teens who have completed grades 8-12 opportunities to volunteer with Positive Energy's day camps and youth programs while learning outdoor and leadership skills. Summer participants help with our day camps and the Two Harbors Kayak Festival. School year participants help with winter day camps, after school programs for youth agencies and other activities. Please contact info@outdooredventures.org for an applicaton or more information. Youth will participate in a training camp/retreat and 50 hours of volunteering through this program. The 2012 Outdoor Leadership for Teens training camp runs 9 am - 4 pm June 11-13. The cost is $50 and scholarships are available.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Positive Energy Outdoors is always looking for volunteer help with daily kennel activities, including care of animals, lead dog training, fall sled dog training and driving draft horses. Volunteers with sea kayak experience or rock climbing experience help with day camps and special events, including facilitating our portable climbing wall. We also need help with projects at the kennel. Please see our Support Us page for our wish list.

Volunteering at Special Events
Positive Energy is involved with a number of special events and festivals each year. From driving the sleigh or sled dog team to facilitating climbers on the portable wall to teaching kayak lessons or leading a naturalist snowshoe hike or bog walk, we have many year round volunteer needs.
