Rock and Ice Climbing--What to Bring

You'll want to make sure you are dressed properly to fully enjoy your climbing experience!  The following is our list of recommended clothing items.

Ice Climbing

Pack boots or mukluks with a removable liner
Long underwear layer
Fleece/wool pants or snow pants for kids
Wind pants or shell pants
Fleece or wool sweater
Vest (optional)
Parka
Outer shell jacket
Scarf
Warm hat that covers your ears
Thin liner gloves 
Warm gloves or mittens that fit over liner gloves
Wool socks
Day Pack
Water bottle
Snacks
Sunglasses
Camera

Try to avoid anything cotton (jeans,  socks, etc.) as they don't keep you warm if you get wet. 

We wear parkas and boots from Empire Canvas Works, handmade by our friend Kevin Kinney right here in Duluth, MN.
