Since 2004, our friendly Alaskan husky sled dogs have introduced thousands of people to dog sledding.
Step back in time on a relaxing sleigh or wagon ride and enjoy beautiful Northwoods scenery.
We offer personalized kayak instruction and tours at our private inland lake waterfront and on Lake Superior.
Our pair of stable 26.5 foot Rabaska canoes hold up to 12 paddlers each.
Our wall, sponsored by maurices provides a fun introduction to rock climbing for participants ages 4 and older. Also available for events.
Ice climbing sites include Casket Quarry in Duluth, Gooseberry Falls State Park, the Cascade and Devil Track Rivers on the North Shore of Lake Superior, and Robinson Park in Sandstone.
Sites include the Whoopie Wall and Ely's Peak in Duluth and Shovel Peak at Tetegouche State Park and Carlton Peak at Temperance River State Park on the North Shore.

Positive Energy Outdoors offers scenic dog sled trails that rival the beauty of the Boundary Waters and include forests, bogs and frozen lakes. Start out as a passenger as we leave from the kennel--during the tour, you'll have the opportunity to drive the sled with a guide as your coach if snow conditions allow, or just relax in the sled and enjoy the ride. We also offer a drive your own team option for those with previous mushing experience.
OUR TOURS ARE OFFERED 7 DAYS A WEEK. Holidays and weekends fill fast so be sure to book early. Our comfortable sleds carry 1-2 adult passengers, 1 adult and 1-2 children, or up to three children. SLEIGH AND WAGONETTE RIDES are offered 7 days a week and last approximately 40-45 minutes. All sleigh and wagonette rides are private party--you'll only ride with the people in your group. Our sleigh season runs from mid-December through mid-March. Sleigh and wagon rides are available on site or we can come to you. We are leaders in hands on draft horse educational programs for all ages and offer half or full day driving clinics, draft horse day camps for youth in grades 2-8 as well as horse logging demonstrations, instruction and services.
KAYAK SKILLS INSTRUCTION AND TOURS take place 7 days a week on Fredenberg/Island Lakes, in Duluth on the St. Louis River and Park Point and on Lake Superior at Burlington Bay in Two Harbors, at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park and at Tettegouche State Park near Silver Bay. We offer kayak tours from mid-May through October. Call about conditions if you are in the area at the beginning or end of the season. Minimum age for Lake Superior kayaking is 8. There is no minimum age for inland lake kayaking.
Positive Energy Outdoors offers PERSONALIZED, SMALL GROUP ROCK AND ICE CLIMBING INSTRUCTION and guiding in Duluth and on the North Shore of Lake Superior for beginning to advanced climbers.
Positive Energy Outdoors provides ROCK AND ICE CLIMBING GUIDING AND INSTRUCTION 7 days a week. The rock climbing season runs from mid-April through late October. Ice climbing season runs from December-mid-March. Call about conditions if you are in the area during the beginning or end of the season. Minimum age for rock climbing is 8. Minimum age for ice climbing is 10. Most climbing sessions begin at 8 am, as climbing sites are first come-first served.
OUR 20' PORTABLE CLIMBING WALL, SPONSORED BY maurices is available for events, parties and groups. Up to three participants can climb at a time. The wall provides a fun introduction to rock climbing for participants ages 4 and older.
We offer SKIJORING LESSONS FOR GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS, as well as PULL TRAINING CLINICS. Any dog over 30 pounds can be trained to pull, and dry land pull clinics are available for those interested in taking up scootering, carting, biking or running with their dog.
